Benin City
not actually in modern Benin, but was formerly called Edo, the capital city of the Kingdom of Benin which is now a non-independent kingdom inside Nigeria. fascinating. their monarch guy, the "oba", has a palace here which is pretty old and fancy or so i've read. And apparently this place used to have the world's greatest system of city walls before the british showed up and wrecked everything
