There are some festivals and events and stuff like that that I'd like to visit and be a part of or watch. These don't always happen at a fixed location, so they might not fit with the geolocated nature of much of this blog. So here's a list, that is most likely not complete.

World

• an aurora borealis or australis
• a music concert
• a tornado or waterspout
• really strong wind that can knock someone down or even carry someone away
• Olympic Games
• a My Little Pony convention
• a New Year celebration in a major city

North America

• Lantern Festival, Taiwan
• Rocket (Girandola) Festival, Laos or Thailand

South America

• Catatumbo lightning, Venezuela

Europe

• a tulip field during tulip season, Netherlands

Benin City

not actually in modern Benin, but was formerly called Edo, the capital city of the Kingdom of Benin which is now a non-independent kingdom inside Nigeria. fascinating. their monarch guy, the "oba", has a palace here which is pretty old and fancy or so i've read. And apparently this place used to have the world's greatest system of city walls before the british showed up and wrecked everything
