Baie Larose

Baie Larose of Kerguelen Island has a beautiful coast, with many beautiful spires along it, complete with a view of the ice-frozen Mont Ross. Also, the "Doigt de Sainte-Anne" is located here, which is quite an amazing rock formation on the bay/bight's east coast.

Paterson Great Falls

Just heard this waterfall area in downtown Paterson, New Jersey, is about to be added to the National Park System. Looked it up, and it's actually quite a remarkable thing from what it seems. I'd like to check this place out; a tourist destination in New Jersey that isn't gambling-related sounds quite appealing.

"Cool Names Tour"

Basically, visiting places with unusual and/or amusing names in the United States (since it's more likely than the rest of the world). Here's a list I can add to here and there, I suppose:

• Natchitoches, Louisiana

• Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

La Paz

A huge city way up high. It's got neat twists and turns and bridges and really cool stuff like that. It's like a city built out of a canyon or something. And the fact that it's huge with skyscrapers, stadiums, and everything, makes it even cooler.

Point Udall

The Caribbean island of Saint Croix belongs to the United States Virgin Islands. Point Udall, a tiny peninsula on a peninsula on the island, is the easternmost point of United States land. Better than this is the panorama of green island and blue ocean surrounding the point, along with the crazy cliffs on the shore.

Southern Dagestan

The area of Dagestan that borders Azerbaijan is a very amazing spot on the planet. The Caucasus mountains give the villages here a gorgeous setting. The spot near the southernmost point in Russia is especially a spot I'd like to see. One person states that the highest settlement in Europe is located in or near a place called Qurush, and it sure is beautiful there.

Lake Huites

Located near the place where Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Sonora meet, Lake Huites is a pretty big lake, with nice backdrops of the surrounding mountains all over.

Vinales Valley

A large valley near Vinales, Cuba, has some great views of tall rounded mountains/hills. There are also caves nearby, and an enormous colorful mural on one of the mountains. The greenery here is also astounding.

Plitvice Lakes

Possibly the most beautiful natural scenery in all of Europe. Croatia's most popular national park is located in the Dinaric Alps, featuring lakes aplenty with very colorful contributions. Lots of great ways to explore this land, I'm sure. A hike among all this beauty would quite surely make my day.

Man

Not necessarily the city of Man is the place I'd like to see here, but the mountainous area around it, part of the Guinea Highlands. There lots of interesting peaks and prominent features in Man's area. There is also a promising-looking national park to the northeast.

Chirripó National Park

Chirripó is the highest mountain in Costa Rica, and much of Central America. Surrounding this rocky peak is a national park with some amazing rock formations. A group of these are called the Crestones (Los Crestones), and are quite tall and grand to look at. Many high-elevation lakes and small bodies of water are located up here in the Continental Divide highlands.

Taranaki

Taranaki is a beautiful and huge mountain (also count Mount Egmont) on New Zealand's North Island. It's the centerpiece (centrepiece) of Egmont National Park, which is a circular area surrounding the peak, filled with great natural preservation in contrast to the surrounding farmland.

Musandam Peninsula

For some odd reason, much or all of the Musandam Peninsula belongs to Oman right now, as a sort of exclave. Still, it's quite a nice piece of land. Not only is it by the "border" of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, it's also home to a quite impressive area of fjords and mountains at its very tip. Among these winding and twisting turns in the rocks, there is a very interesting town called Kumzar, which looks quite fantastical in the valley setting among this unique geology.

Bristol

Bristol is technically two cities, but they border each other right on the boundaries of Tennessee and Virginia, so it would seem to be one big city being there. State Street in its downtown area goes right along the boundary, with a few plaques and stuff to note the boundary here and there. There are also interesting cultural events that take place from time to time.

Mount Nyiragongo

Do not want to climb this one. Judging by its very fiery caldera, it's a pretty scary volcano. What I do wish to see is the glow that its lava lake gives off at night. Also interesting to tour could be Virunga National Park, which Nyiragongo is either part of or very near to.

Tatacoa Desert

In northern Huila Department of Colombia, there is a beautiful desert landscape called the Desierto de Tatacoa. It's quite pretty from the pictures I've seen of it: the rocks are quite colorful and are shaped quite creatively. There are also many kinds of cacti to add to the scenery.

Ilha da Trindade

Ilha da Trindade is an island of Brazil way out in the Atlantic. Not way, way out, like Saint Helena, but still quite a ways from the mainland. Anyway, it's really colorful, pretty, and has lots of neat mountainous terrain, so it'd be quite a neat place to explore by helicopter or foot or something like that.

Qutang Gorge

In Chongqing, there's a beautiful gorge in the Three Gorges area called the Qutang Gorge, which is magnificent in terrain and color and size. The famous Yangtze River, if it's still called that officially now, goes through here. It's quite a sight, and a recommendation for a Chinese trip.

Ennedi

The area of Ennedi in northwestern Chad has a bunch of beautiful rock formations, including tons of arches, and even a natural labyrinth of sorts (Kéchéli). The scenery available here is quite spectacular and fantastic.

Chutes de Boali

The Boali Falls (Chutes de Boali) are in Ombela M'Poko, in the Central African Republic. There's a big dam up river, I think, that controls some of the flow of these falls, which are huge, beautiful, and not visited very often.

Mount Tabor

Mount Tabor is a beautiful mountain in northern Israel, surrounded by beautiful scenery in pretty much every direction. When the flowers here are blooming would be a great time to see this area.

Cape Verde

I can't decide which island of Cape Verde I want to visit most. There are absolutely beautiful towns throughout the archipelago, and all surrounded by amazing scenery unlike most other islands. No palm trees or coconut imagery should come to mind with Cape Verde; there are deserts and tall sienna mountains instead, which are breathtaking. Sooner or later, I'll have to possible try to narrow down the islands for travel opportunities, but this place has huge potential for exploration and awe.

Mount Cameroon

Very large volcano, visible from over thirty miles away, possibly much more. It ranks about third or fourth in prominent mountains of Africa. I'd love to see a couple of the cities and towns that surround it as well, possibly one with a nice Atlantic view as well.

Angkor Wat

You might very well know what Angkor Wat is already: a big famous pretty-looking ancient Buddhist temple in Cambodia. Looks pretty neat, try googling for pictures of it if you haven't already.

Loma Mountains

I just found out about the Loma Mountains while looking near a point on the map in northeast Sierra Leone labeled "Bakando", which seems to have a very tall and pretty mountain to its south. The Loma Mountains look quite nice, and different from what you'd expect; I mean, mountains in West Africa? Who knew? A mountain called Mount Bintumani could be a beautiful place in this region.

By the way, the area in particular that I found are apparently known as the Tingi Hills.

Chocolate Hills

The Chocolate Hills of Bohol are pretty interesting features. Probably worth taking a look at someday.

American Samoa

American Samoa is the United States's only territory south of the Equator, and it's beautiful. Unlike many other Pacific islands, the terrain is amazing to look at. Mountain peaks are enormous and tall, and the green forests are everywhere, accompanied by the oceans, lakes, and harbors. A few islands have area included in the National Park of American Samoa, so it sounds quite easy to tell how well much of these islands have been preserved. Surely natural wonders abound here.

Peaks of Sindou

The Peaks of Sindou (Pics de Sindou) are a very impressive but little-known (so far) group of tall rock formations in southwestern Burkina Faso near the town of Sindou. I'd love to see these things popping up in the middle of West Africa. Their color makes them special among other rock formations of the world, as well.

Chudnite Skali

The Wonderful Rocks, or "Chudnite Skali" in Bulgaria, are a bunch of really cool rock formations along the Luda Chamchiya river in the province of Burgas. They are clearly visible from a road going right by the castle-looking things, and is only about a mile from a nearby town. It appears that some of these are open to the public as well, which could make more some neat perspectives.

Ulu Temburong

Ulu Temburong National Park in Brunei features very well preserved rainforest on Borneo. The main reason I'd like to see this one, apart from it being in such a small country, is that visitors can explore the scenery using the park's impressive system of bridges and boardwalks, including the famous Canopy Walkway. Definitely want to try this out and see the views it offers.
