Pitcairn Island

These beautiful islands are home to less than a hundred people. The remarkable cliffs here and the lack of artificially being destroyed compared to other Pacific Islands would be something to attract me.

Puerto Montt

Puerto Montt is a pretty big city, significant in its location. It is on the Pacific coast of Chile, to the west of the Andes Moutains. The bay there is quite large and interesting, with many chips coming in frequently, I assume from all the boat-related photographs from Puerto Montt. Calbuco and Osorno, two high mountains, are most likely visible at a distance to the northwest as well (which would also be super cool to see up closer!).

Alaska

So here's another month-long trip idea: visiting every borough in Alaska. There are almost thirty of them, so it would fit quite well for a month trip.

Quime

Quime is a nice rural populated place east of La Paz, in a magnificent Andean valley, in the northern Cordillera Real to be more exact. To be honest, I really have no memory of why I decided a while ago to post Quime, but surely it's a neat place in some sense.

Salar de Uyuni

A huge area in southwestern Bolivia is sometimes desert and sometimes lake. When it's a lake, it's not very deep, but very flat at times, resulting in an amazing natural mirror or sorts, reflecting the nearby clouds and sky outstandingly well. Other times, when it is dry, the plain sight of miles and miles of plain salt flats is quite surrealistic in ways.

Islands of the Four Mountains

Specifically the Four Mountains islands, which I discovered browsing through the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, would be quite beautiful to see all together I imagine.

Marlborough Sounds

There are tons of interesting twists and turns that are too intricate to be seen on a map; even more unimaginable it must be actually present there, seeing all the amazing land and water features. Exploring them both terrestrially and aquatically seems like a must as well.

Socotra

I've just discovered the southern coast of the main island of Socotra, a Yemeni territory off the coast of Africa. The southern beaches have an absolutely incredible view of a massive plateau to the north, which would most certainly be sight to see. The same beaches would also be quite a sight from the cliffs of the plateau as well.

Kangaroo Island

Just discovered this wonder-filled island in South Australia. It includes the Remarkable Rocks (which alone seem amazing enough for a visit), sand dunes, lookouts, lighthouses, and other geological features.

Fraser Island

I really don't remember what I found so amazing about Fraser Island; it looks like a plain old island from researching it again. Of course, there was probably I reason, so hey, here it is on the blog. Let me know if there is something super about this place that I haven't found yet. Please.

Pico da Neblina

Pico da Neblina is the highest point in Brazil. One interesting thing about this location is that is thousands of miles away from the big Brazilian cities. In fact, it's pretty much right on the border of Brazil and Venezuela, in Amazonas. Even better than its remote and unique jungle location is that it's also a very pretty mountain to look at; its prominence and steep grades are clearly visible from below, unlike many other mountains that only gradually slope up to the peak.

Brasilia

Brasilia has lots of cool buildings, and there seems to be a nice charm to it, since it's the capital city of Brazil. This also most likely means that there are lots of enjoyable cultural elements as a focus of the city, and from research one can see that this is true at least in its museums. I'm sure there's a nice Brazilian way of things in Brasilia, and touring the capital this way would be like a gallery of the nation in some ways I imagine.

Palacio de los López

In Paraguay's capital Asuncion, there's a government building called the Palacio de los López. It's a government palace with lots of history behind it, and a great find architecturally. Searching for pictures of it shows lots of impressive nighttime shots as well, and the lovely green grounds it's on contribute to its magnificence.

Avenida 9 de Julio

Basically an Argentinian version of Washington's National Mall, but surely that terrible description didn't express it very well. This street, Avenida 9 de Julio (or "July 9 Avenue", I assume), contains a monumentally monumental monument, the Buenos Aires obelisk. Also lined with many other buildings that I'm sure are of interest, it would be a high-priority stop if I was in the Buenos Aires area.

Cueva de las Manos

There's a cave thing in the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina, that's called the Cueva de las Manos. "Manos", in Spanish, means "hands". Basically, it's famous for its artistic-looking cave paintings/markings featuring tons of profiles of hands. Not sure why, but it sounds like worth a look. Definitely more interesting than the boring old Spanish-like writing here.

Also, the valley that the cave is located in is beautiful.

Easter Island

Most of you have probably seen images of the famous Moai statues of Easter island. While these are extremely significant and quite amazing features that surely I would love to see, I'm also curious to explore the other regions of the island such as all those green hills and mountains which I am sure must be beautiful.

Torres del Paine

I just discovered these awesome peaks in Chile called the Torres del Paine, probably somewhere in the Andes. They look really really cool and big.

South America is beginning to appear to have plenty of amazing things to see, much more than I originally knew of. Chile and Argentina are especially peaking my interest in this spectacular area of the world.

Detian Waterfall

The Detian Waterfall is an absolutely amazing waterfall, on or near the Chinese-Vietnamese border. It's huge, gorgeous, and looks just plain amazing.

The scenery surrounding the area alone is gorgeous. Also, just looking at the scale of these falls is making me want to see more of China.

Jigme Dorji National Park

Jigme Dorji National Park contains beautiful mountain scenery, numerous lakes, and plenty of colorful grand monasteries. Along with the wildlife and its valley location in northwest Bhutan, these characteristics alone make this a unique place I'd certainly enjoying viewing.

Castle Harbour

Castle Harbour of Bermuda seems like a pretty place. It includes lots of tiny islands, within a tiny island country. Also, along the shallow colorful harbor are a castle or two, showing a bit of history as well.

Langelede

The Langelede is a canal in East Flanders that runs through the city of Wachtebeke. The reflections that are visible of its water at certain times are quite beautiful and make great photographs. There also appears to be a lovely walkway along much of the canal's route, which could be great for a scenic stroll.

Ruzhany Palace

While searching for points of interest in Belarus, I discovered a large but majestic set of ruins of an old palace in the city of Ruzhany. It is often called the Sapieha palace due to the family that seems to have owned it originally. Living in the New Mexico area, where ruins are plentiful, old stuff like this usually does not attract me, but the architecture of this estate and its size make this quite appealing even for me. Also attractive is that it's hard to find out much about Belarus. I tried to do a school report on that country once, and it was pretty difficult. A visit to this site could also teach its visitors more about this country's history.

Korab

I would like to explore the mountain area and valleys of Korab (a peak) in Macedonia. The landscape, terrain, and scenery of that area appears beautiful from the photographs other visitors here have shared.

Olympic National Park

I just saw a view of Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park, and it is now on my list of places to see. The view looked just that amazing even on photographs, and in real life it must be one of the most grand vistas one could ever see.

Further research shows that the area includes lakes, waterfalls, rivers, mountain trails, and all the time filled with outstanding scenery. More people should know about this place.

Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay is the location of both a beautiful natural area (including an Australian national park) and a geographical oddity (it is its own separate territory largely unknown to many).

Ganvie

Ganvie is basically Africa's Venice, in that water transportation is huge in this community. Also, the entire town's architecture reflects its super unique location: a lake. Apparently this was for tribal land disputes or something like that, but however it happened, it would be something really cool to visit. The houses and businesses are largely located in buildings on stilts above the water surface. Imagine an entire city on a lake. Very neat if you ask me.

Ahsan Manzil

The Ahsan Manzil is a large palace-turned-museum in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is often called the Pink Palace due to its pink color.

A trip to Dhaka itself would be interesting (including the Bangladesh Parliament building that looks cool), considering the enormous population density there; and a visit to one of the country's most famous architectural treasures would be an interesting way to observe how this area of the world manages their monuments and landmarks.

Bahrain

Bahrain is a tiny country, but a unique nation still. Modernization has come to this island area, along with unique city architecture. I'd like to check it out, especially with its Middle Eastern setting.

Schönbrunn Palace

I've come across a grand palace in Vienna, Austria. It is the centerpiece of an entire park, which includes many historic landmarks and structures, along with gardens, a museum, and a zoo. I'd definitely hope to visit this area if I'm ever in the Vienna area.

Auyuittuq

A trip to Auyuittuq was planned to see the Northern Lights, but in an area so beautiful that there would be an even more rewarding experience than just the aurora alone.

The enormous mountains and glaciers of Nunavut's Auyuittuq National Park appeared to be the greatest landscape for this purpose. Two of its huge peaks, Mount Thor and Mount Asgard, would be worth the visit by themselves.

Also, the park crosses the Arctic Circle, leading into the arctic region of the world that is so amazing due to its remoteness. Seeing even a little of all the beauty at Auyuittuq would be wonderful, and just browsing the stories of visitors makes me want to give glory to God. It would be a great blessing to see the creation there in that part of Baffin Island. I hope it will happen someday.
