Iquitos

Iquitos is a populated place along the Amazon River. There are numerous hut-like structures around here, along with your general pretty South American buildings. The hut village thing on the water seems the most interesting about this place to me, though. All those kinds of buildings together, with water instead of streets between them, look really cool like that.

Lima

Lima has pretty buildings and neat mountains I think. It looks pretty pretty.

Rabaul

This location on Papua New Guinea's island of New Britain has a great view of the nearby volcanoes Tavurvur and Vulcan, at least one of which I think has been continuously active for a while, displaying a huge plume of smoke quite often I think. It might be neat to see from Rabaul.

Tufi

In eastern new Guinea, a fjord area called Tufi seems to provide opportunities for neat views and walks as well as interesting cultural discoveries.

Rock Islands

Palau's Rock Islands look beautiful, magnificent, and very artistic. The deep green and clear blue and huge fascinating twists and turns really make for a lovely scene.

Ararat

I think Mount Ararat is cool. Geology, history, and such.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo

These three (or maybe six, according to SummitPost) enormous shapes are located in the Dolomites of Italy. These features look so impressive, they could be a global destination all by themselves.

Sumela Monastery

It's like Mesa Verde, with the buildings on/in mountains, but with a monastery in Turkey.

Acapulco

Acapulco's coast features some neat scenery of the city and of natural features, is my guess. If there are nice places to hike or walk along these scenic views, that could be a nice way to spend some time.

Stonehenge

Not really a destination due to its poor quality. More like a goofy roadside stop.

Strasbourg

Strasbourg, France, is not only scenic, but also is home to a tall famous cathedral as well as various buildings greatly used by the European Union.

Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre ("five lands") are villages on cliffs in Italy, I think. In particular, Vernazza looks pretty with its multicolored buildings.

Palo Duro Canyon

Texas's Palo Duro Canyon was a surprising discovery on the map for me. I generally don't think of interesting topography when contemplating the Texas "panhandle", but apparently, there's quite a nice canyon here.

Volcan Masaya

Volcan Masaya is apparently an active volcano in Nicaragua, with quite a nice spot to view the crater. The height and terrain seem to make for quite a dazzling appearance.

Mother Russia

Mother Russia, or "The Motherland Calls", is one of the world's largest statues. Located at Mamayev Hill in Volgograd, this statue seems to be a memorial of a Russian World War II victory. Whatever it was built for, it looks pretty impressive.

Great Wall of China

This is one of the, if not the, longest man-made structures in the world, I think. The way it goes up and down crossing mountains and valleys looks fascinating.

Nambung National Park

In Australia, there are some interesting apparently-natural pinnacles in Nambung National Park.

Mount Eden

In or near Auckland is a hill-like thing called Mount Eden, I think. The views from here look great, and the "mount" itself also looks nice.

Cathedral Cove

This New Zealand location is mainly known to me due to its role in one of the Narnia movies. It certainly looks beautiful, though.

Alamo

The Alamo is a historic mission in San Antonio, Texas. It looks kinda small and such, but its history and fame could make it worth stopping at.

Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is probably the United States's most famous dam.

Cape Town

Table Mountain, by or in Cape Town, is possibly the most famous natural wonder of South Africa, which I think I'd like to see. Also, Cape Point, to the south of the city center, looks like an awesome sight.

Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel contains some big, famous ancient Egyptian structures allegedly built for Ramesses II.

Poás

In Costa Rica, there is a volcano called Volcán Poás that might be worth a visit.

Bridge of the Americas

Crossing the Panama Canal is the large Bridge of the Americas. It looks pretty, and it's a logistically significant part of the world I think.

Antigua

Antigua is a colorful city in Guatemala, with great views of a large nearby volcano.

Baños

The city of Baños, Ecuador, appears to be a geologically strange place, with waterfalls and nearby volcanic activity.

Huacachina

This place seems cool because it looks like a Peruvian oasis in a South American desert. Not sure if it technically is, though. Still looks kinda cool to me.

Guatapé

A lake and mountain area, I think known as Guatapé, in Colombia appears very scenic. In this lake area are islands, peninsulas, and a prominent rock, of and from which are likely gorgeous vistas.

Copper Canyon

Mexico's Copper Canyon looks like a beautiful place to visit.

Cape Breton

Locations like Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Meat Cove at the very north part of the island, and the famous Cabot Trail, have me interested in visiting Nova Scotia's Cape Breton region.

Forillon National Park

In southern Quebec, there's a lovely-looking national park called Forillon, on a mountainous peninsula by the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. There are beaches with great views of cliffs and such. Nearby Gaspé seems to have many nice views as well.

Monticello

Monticello is a nice-looking historic place in Virginia, famous for the influence of Thomas Jefferson. I pretty much think the place looks pretty.

Point Reyes

Point Reyes, California, looks beautiful.

Cape Disappointment

It looks like a picturesque, better, real-life version of one of those eerie puzzle paintings. Which is a good thing, I think. There's a popular image of a lighthouse above high cliffs that I'm referring to, which seems quite nice.

Jasper National Park

I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard more about Jasper National Park. It looks stunning, with its beautiful mountains and huge glaciers.

Lake Saiful Maluk

Saiful Maluk is a lake surrounded by beautiful scenery in northern Pakistan. If I understand this correctly, it's also known as "Fairy Tale Lake". The colors here seem quite lovely.

It might be in an area called Naran, whose palindromic quality would likely be appreciated.

Lahore

Lahore is a Pakistani city with some neat things to see, including various gardens with interesting usage of water and architecture.

Meroe Pyramids

The Meroe Pyramids of Sudan look like a unique collection of ancient structures with their own unique shape and style.

Mughsail Beach

On Oman's southern coast, Mughsail Beach seems quite unusual for the Arabian Peninsula. There actually seem to be patches of green around here. But there are other neat attributes about this place, it seems, like blowholes and impressive mountains.

Wadi Shab

It appears that Oman's Wadi Shab area includes a place of green at the bottom of a tall desert valley.

Bjørnøya

This island between Svalbard and mainland Scandinavia looks cool.

Lofoten Islands

The Lofoten Islands seem to offer great opportunities for the eyes. The area around Reine and the area around Rost (or is it supposed to be Røst?) look like beautiful places. There seem to be beaches here like Horseid and Bunes that are pretty interesting and kinda pretty.

Lysefjord

The area of Norway's Lysefjord looks like quite a spectacular place to visit. Two places around here that seem particularly interesting are Preikestolen and the Kjeragbolten, both locations with quite a view and quite a drop.

Arakao

In the Tenere Desert, part of the Sahara probably, there's a crater of a volcano (apparently extinct or inactive) called Arakao. It looks very isolated and very amazing. There are sand dunes at the bottom of the crater, and the rim seems to be made of mountains (of the Air group) colored black or dark gray. Looks really neat, though getting there could be tough.

Isla de Ometepe

Isla de Ometepe is a large island in Lake Nicaragua. It features two volcanoes, and pretty much looks cool on a map. At least seeing it seems cool, but there could be neat things to see/do on the island itself too, like waterfalls, or hiking.

Punakaiki

New Zealand's West Coast, around the Punakaiki area, has some neat things to offer. Punakaiki is apparently well-known for blowholes and features called the "Pancake Rocks". There are other neat things in this area most likely.

Nauru

Nauru is a very interesting little country. It's basically one island: no huge vast-reaching archipelagos like other Pacific nations. It's densely populated, possibly struggling to survive due to their lack of natural resources, and tiny. I'd like to tour around this place. There could be some neat things to see here, like the old phosphate mines and the government buildings, and lagoons and towns and such.

Dry Tortugas

It looks like a challenge to get here–why don't I say that more often on this blog I don't know–but it looks beautiful and interesting. Apparently, the fort located in Dry Tortugas National Park is of historical significance. The area it's in, a bunch of tiny islands surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico, or the Atlantic Ocean, or both maybe, looks really cool for visiting.

Porcupine Mountains

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan contains an area known as a Porcupine Mountains, which seems like a hidden treasure. One particular view I'd like to see is from an overlook of the Lake of the Clouds, which looks very promising and gorgeous.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar is interesting for two main reasons (and probably more). First of all, it's got the gargantuan and iconic Rock of Gibraltar making up a huge part of this comparatively small location. Secondly, it's a tiny United Kingdom peninsula on the mostly Spain Iberian Peninsula. The culture here might be interesting to witness.

Puroland

Sanrio Puroland is one of the few, possibly less than few, amusement parks in the world that interest me. Experiencing Puroland, a huge place for Hello Kitty stuff, could make for one of the strangest days ever. Oh yeah.

Sossusvlei

At Sossusvlei, in the Namib Desert, there are large sand dunes. These are possibly the world's largest.

Fish River Canyon

Apparently, according to Namibian travel website, the Fish River Canyon is one of the world's largest canyons. Okay then.

Cape Cross

Namibia has a "seal reserve" at Cape Cross, along the county's Atlantic coast. It appears that it's famous for seals. All those seals could be neat to see.

Windhoek

Windhoek is the capital of Namibia. It contains much history, which for some reason I found somewhat surprising. Hm. Anyway, the Parliament grounds look quite nice, as does a famous place called the Christuskirche.

Swakopmund

Along the coast of Namibia, the city of Swakopmund is famous for resembling a German town. The architecture looks lovely, and the nearby coast seems to offer scenic views.

Cahora Bassa Dam

This impressive dam on the Zambezi river system is located in a scenic area of northwestern Mozambique.

Channel Tunnel

The Channel Tunnel is the famous tunnel that goes across the English Channel, connecting Great Britain to mainland Europe. It might be cool to go through this tunnel one way or the other.

Dades Gorge

Dades Gorge and the nearby Todra Gorge (also looks visitable) are located in the area of the Atlas Mountains. Both gorges seem recommended by visitors, and a certain climb in the road of Dades Gorge is apparently quite a driving experience with its twisty path.

Niagara Falls

The Niagara Falls area seems to be super-touristy, but the main attraction does look impressive.

Pyramids of Giza

Those famous old pyramids, yes. They look huge and neat and ancient, and could be neat to see up close, along with the Sphinx statue that's kind of on the same grounds maybe.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein, if I spelled it correctly, is probably Germany's most famous castle, and maybe even the world's.

Gorkhi-Terelj

Gorkhi-Terelj National Park in Mongolia I chose kinda because I didn't have anything in Mongolia yet. It does look pretty ,though, and there's a neat... rock formation too. Yeah, apparently I like cool rock formations.

London Bridge

Lake Havasu City bought the London Bridge a while ago, so now there's this big odd English artifact in this desert area. Cool!

Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli is world-famous, although I'm not sure if it's much different from the United States's similarly strange roadside attractions. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, right? Not planning to take that common "holding-up-the-tower" photo, though, but the tower could be a neat stop.

Shanghai

Shanghai's downtown or central area looks pretty neat with it's crazy-looking buildings and colors. Being China's largest city, Shanghai likely includes some neat things to see and do in addition. Also in the vicinity of Shanghai area bunch of "water towns" like Zhouzhuang and such, like near Suzhou, which have old architecture and canals and bridges that look pretty cool. Also some cool gardens.

Mexico City

Mexico City is the capital of Mexico, and, by some measures, the world's most populous city. There is so much to see in this city, I am sure. So much history, architecture, and culture seems to live here, and I'm certainly curious about it.

Bruges

Bruges, or Brugge, looks kind of romantic, due to its fancy buildings and canals/rivers.

New Orleans

New Orleans seems to have had quite an interesting history. It's had periods of French rule, American rule, battles, and disasters it seems. And it looks pretty touristy. Why not check it out?

Jerusalem

I would like to visit possibly the most important city in the world, Jerusalem. There are numerous things to see that seem to be some of the most interesting and possibly significant things in the world. I'm a Bible-believing Christian, but I'm not sure exactly what one's supposed to think of certain things in Jerusalem. I certainly don't feel that I must visit certain places in Israel, nor do I think that visiting Jerusalem places is particularly "holy". I'd mainly visit for the interest of its places.

The world-famous Dome of the Rock seems quite mysterious and strange, as does the Wailing Wall and the Via Dolorosa. There are also modern things like the national museum and the Knesset that could be neat to check out. Also Yad Vashem to see the famous Israeli Holocaust memorial.

Venice

Venice, Italy, seems visit-worthy basically because of what it seems to be famous for. It's got so many canals, pretty structures, and stuff like that.

Florence

Florence, Italy, just looks pretty. Just to walk around in the city might offer some pretty scenery.

Toronto

I'm not too sure if there's anything to culturally experience in Toronto (probably, being one Canada's most influential cities). But mainly to see the CN Tower and the City Hall, I might stop by.

Kakadu

I'm kinda surprised I didn't know much of the Northern Territory's Kakadu National Park until today. I still don't know much, actually, but it does look really neat.

Banff

Banff National Park contains some of Canada's most known natural wonders. The lakes, glaciers, forest, and mountains here are gorgeous, and somewhat representative of the best of Canada's beauty in creation.

Monaco

Monaco has a bunch of interesting stuff. I'm curious how the world's most densely populated nation works. The architecture in the Monte Carlo area looks nice, and the mountainous views of the city could be quite photographic if done right. It appears to be a unique place on Earth.

Pohnpei

On or near (haven't figured it out) the Micronesian island of Pohnpei, there is a topographical feature called Sokehs Rock that looks really neat as part of the background above other places in Pohnpei.

Cañón del Sumidero

The Sumidero Canyon in Chiapas is huge. You can probably take a boat ride through the bottom.

Mauritius

There are many treasures of creation on the island of Mauritius. There are multiple waterfalls complete with lovely scenery among them (for example, at the Black River Gorges, I think). There's also a place with some very neat feature called seven-colored earth. It looks like artificially-dyed ice cream, which actually seems to be a good thing.

Ben Amera

Mauritania's Ben Amera is a huge monolith in the Sahara Desert. Its black color really sets it apart from its larger Australian counterpart.

Azure Window

Along the coast of Gozo, Malta's major northern island, are pretty big cliffs and such. Along its coast is a natural arch that looks awesome.

Maldives

The Maldives is an Indian Ocean island chain that includes some gorgeous areas of bright see-through turquoise waters with fantastic buildings that appear to float peacefully on the surface. Some of these are likely expensive, but just to be at a place like that could be so cool.

Isalo

Isalo is a place in Madagascar with weird natural things to look at. Maybe.

Sandakan

Sandakan is a city in Sabah, Malaysia, that seems to offer many exotic sights. There is a "water village" in the area, as well as a beautiful nearby island called Berhala. It's quite a big city, but in this part of the world that could mean different things than in the more northern European-influenced urban areas.

Petronas Towers

Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers (or is it one tower) are very tall, and significant in the skyscraper records area. They might be worth a look.

Allée des Baobabs

This place contains a bunch of spectacular baobab trees in a very intriguing group, like a city of tree-like towers. Not that there is a city of tree-like towers out there. Maybe.

Tsingy de Bemaraha

This place reminds me of a description somewhere in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book that described a place of sharp jagged rocks or something, maybe. And that area of "super sharp rock spires" or something, although that was inappropriately named, maybe.

Anyway, it looks really neat, and there could be chance of spotting lemurs there too.

Antananarivo

Madagascar's capital city Antananarivo seems to defy the normal appearance of other African cities. The architecture appears surprisingly European. Within the city, there seems to be a lovely lake setting surrounding Lac Anasy. This area includes some pretty-looking colorful trees of much purple.

Krusevo

Krusevo, Macedonia, is a city that appears to be shaped by hills and mountains, and the red roofs of its buildings combine with these slopes to make a nice view from above.
