Jebel Shams

This seems to be an Omani mountain next to a huge canyon. Looks pretty desolate out there, but impressive. Thanks The Amazing Race, omantourism.gov.om, Wikipedia, Google Maps, and TripAdvisor. I'm still not sure if this is the place I'm thinking of, but it seems to be. I'm looking for the huge canyon next to it, I think.
